by Lukman Faily
On this Veterans Day, Ambassador Faily penned an opinion piece in USA Today to express his gratitude on behalf of Iraqi people for the sacrifices that American soldiers have made to liberate Iraq and set the nation on the path to freedom and democracy.
"America's soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines and foreign service officers helped set Iraq on the path to success -- and we are thankful to all of those brave men and women," said Ambassador Faily.
Ambassador Faily asserted that the United States remains Iraq's ally of choice; and the sacrifices made by American soldiers bind the countries together.
"On this day, we reflect on, and learn from our past, and look forward to building on our partnership in the years to come."
