A delegation of Palestinians from Britain has visited on Wednesday at night Sheikh Raed Salah, the leader of the Islamic Movement in the occupied territories in the British deportation center in Heathrow airport in London.
"Safa" News Agency said that a special sources in the United Kingdom have informed their agency that a strenuous efforts have been made and is expected to be successful for the release of Sheikh Salah in a few hours with his stay in Britain for a decision in his case in the coming days.
He added that the British judiciary approved the request of the appeal filed by lawyer of Sheikh Salah, and team of lawyers will meet with him Thursday morning to discuss the next legal steps.
The source pointed out that the Palestinian delegation visited Sheikh Raed Salah for more than an hour, pointing out that he has very good health, high morale and he is determined to reject the decision of deportation.
Sheikh Salah's messages
Palestinian writer living in London, Ibrahim al-Hammami - who was part of the visiting delegation – carried many messages in words of Sheikh Salah said that the Israeli establishment was behind the conspiracy and is responsible for his arrest in Britain.
Sheikh Salah stressed that he would not bow to the decision of expulsion and deportation voluntarily, he did not commit a crime and will not accept staining of his name, pointing out that he will go to the last path in legal proceedings, even if forced to stay in prison.
Salah said he had a right and not in a position of defense and prosecution, he has been attacked and he is the one who should accuse not to be accused .
The British authorities have arrested Sheikh Salah after arriving in Britain without objection from the staff in the management of immigration despite the decision of the British Minister of Interior putting him on the list of persons banned from entering the country.
Salah was intended to address a number of British members of parliament from the opposition Labor Party, where the left-wing of the party invited him to talk about the Israeli - Palestinian conflict.
The arrest of Salah met with large condemnation by Palestinians, while it was met with great welcome by Israelis. | |
